Earth Mystic Yoga Retreat
in ubud, bali
january 6-12, 2018

Swallowed in jungle,
surrounded by sea,
bursting with life,
grounded in ceremony...

there is no place on earth like Ubud, Bali.

Known as the “Island of the Gods,” Bali is one of the world’s most powerful hubs of healing, art and rejuvenation. In concert with endless rituals, a swarm of scooters, and meals served in banana leaves, there is a palpable presence of spiritual awakening at every turn.

Here, you are bound to unfold, unwind, nourish, explore and expand.

the yoga

Every day we will rise to the sound of roosters, scooters, exotic birds, and insects singing. We’ll feel the warm hug of the jungle air, taste exotic fruits, and then settle on our yoga mat for an unhurried dive into ourselves with mantra, pranayama, meditation and yoga.

The afternoons will be as chill or adventurous as you like. You may choose to join our excursions or explore on your own.

excursions

Each day in Bali is an endless adventure. While we’ll have several planned excursions, we intentionally leave space for free time to explore, experience and savor:

Balinese Fire Ceremony

Water Temple Blessing

Ubud Market

with Adrienne Kimberley & Karina Brossman

Punta Monterrey is a magical, untouched escape where pristine nature and wildlife meet the vibrant culture of Mexico. Family owned and community run, this treasure is full of unexpected treats: effervescence in the water, natural hot tubs, natural clay masks, fresh oysters, jumping dolphins and stunning hiking trails.

The rhythm of the ocean guides every moment here. You are nourished with sustainable sea food caught daily, fresh coconut, avocado and mango. With no internet connection or cell phone service, restoration runs deep.

    your day in paradise

You wake with bright, warm, comforting air that smells like sea. In no big hurry, you make your way to a breakfast of hibiscus tea, tropical fruit and oats. Maybe you’ll take a quick dip in the water? Maybe you’ll just take in the view.

A vigorous, yet balanced, yoga practice brings new personal insights, and you decide to meditate in our open air studio, surrounded by the jungle.

A gloriously filling mid-day meal with your favorite Mexican dishes and our yoga community gives you just want you need for the rest of your day.

Your day can be adventurous—hikes or exploring neighboring villages—or your day can be low key and personal. With yoga classes each day and hearty group meals, you get just enough interaction to complement important introspection.

    march 27-29, 2014—sold out!

Tucked away on Bainbridge Island, Washington is a world of possibility just waiting to be discovered. Islandwood is, “a catalyst, an invitation to walk down a new path and come to a new awareness of our place in the world.”

As a sprawling 255-acre outdoor learning center, Islandwood invites people to discover a new way of seeing nature, themselves, and one another. So, when Andreas Fetz, Tim Sullivan and I decided to host a yoga retreat together, we knew Islandwood was the perfect venue to connect.

    disengage to engage

Yoga is a powerful, multifaceted, transformational journey. Yet, in crowded public yoga classes, we only touch a fraction of svadhyaya (self-study). Rarely do we have an opportunity to inquire, focus and dig deeper. Step back from the hustle and engage with your yoga.

    elevate your asana

Deep backbends, free standing inversions, and powerful arm balances are within reach. We will utilize our unique, complementary expertise in these posture groups to bring your asana practice to a new level.

    the details

Islandwood is just a short drive away, located at 4450 Blakely Ave. NE Bainbridge Island, WA 98110. We’ll arrive on Friday, March 27 at 1:00pm and depart after lunch on Sunday, March 29.

We’ll spend most of the weekend doing yoga, but when we’re not, we’ll eat delicious food, drink good wine, laugh with each other by the bonfire, or enjoy a moment of solitude in the forest.

    pricing

Prices include all yoga, meals and optional bonfire and guided hike. Taxes and gratuity are also included! Wine is available for purchase at dinner time.

This retreat WILL sell out! Book your spot here! A $150 non-refundable deposit secures your spot. Full balance is due by March 1, 2015.

    July 18-20, 2014—sold out!

Restore in the rustic and humble quietude of Whidbey Island. Daily forest walks, nourishing meals, and extended yoga practice offer an essential—yet rare—opportunity to step back and look within.

    explore

Wander along winding, moss-covered trails. Discover rushing streams in forgotten corners of the forest. Breathe deeply and feel the aliveness in the air. Pause quietly as deer leap nearby. Emerge from tree canopy onto beach—just as the sun glide into water—golden and magenta light streaming as far as the eye can see.

    sweat

Reinvigorate with empowering vinyasa flow, then restore in the wood burning sauna. As the summer sun sinks away and brisk evening arrives, bonfires and roasted marshmallows illuminate the night, punctuated by laughter from old friends and new acquaintances.
